In 2005, we launched Project Open Door with the Pierce County AIDS Foundation. This program focuses on moving chronically homeless individuals into two safe, affordable homes.
Through Project Open Door residents receive:
- intensive case management,
- chemical dependency group support,
- life-skill training,
- mental health services, and,
- nutritional education.
Today, AHAT oversees the most of the daily operations of Project Open Door and PCAF assists with client intake. This program is also funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through the Pierce County Continuum of Care in 2003.
